Sup To You – Terms & Conditions

Sup To You is a mobile stand-up paddleboard hire service operating within the Lake District National Park. We provide paddleboards and associated equipment for independent use only.

We do not provide lessons, tuition, supervision, or guided activities. Any safety information supplied is general guidance only and does not constitute instruction or responsibility for users once equipment has been handed over.

By making a booking, the hirer agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.

Responsibility of the Hirer

• Sup To You operates solely as an equipment hire service.

• The named person on the booking is responsible for ensuring all party members understand and comply with these Terms & Conditions.

• Sup To You reserves the right to refuse or cancel hire if these terms are not adhered to.

Age & Personal Safety

• You must be 18 years or older to hire equipment from Sup To You.

• Under 18s may only use hired equipment when directly supervised by a responsible adult.

• Stand-up paddleboarding is an adventurous water activity and carries inherent risks, including but not limited to cold water immersion, sudden weather changes, injury, or death.

• Hirers acknowledge and accept these risks voluntarily, except where caused by Sup To You’s negligence.

• All users must be able to swim at least 25 metres unaided.

• All users must wear the supplied Personal Flotation Device (PFD) at all times while on the water.

• Wildlife, other water users, and the natural environment must be respected at all times. Littering, environmental damage, or antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.

Booking & Payment

• All hires must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

• Equipment will only be delivered once all required Hire Disclaimer and Hire Agreement forms have been completed.

• Requests to amend a booking must be made in writing via email and are subject to availability.

Cancellations

• All cancellations must be made in writing via email.

• Cancellations made 48 hours or more before delivery will receive a full refund.

• Cancellations made 24–48 hours before delivery may receive a partial refund, minus administration fees.

• Cancellations made within 24 hours of delivery will not be refunded.

• Sup To You reserves the right to cancel bookings due to poor weather conditions. In this case, customers will be offered a full refund or an alternative date.

Equipment Delivery & Collection

• All equipment remains the property of Sup To You at all times.

• Hirers are responsible for the safe and correct use of equipment during the hire period.

• Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and within permitted locations, in line with Lake District National Park Authority guidance.

• Late returns will incur a fee of £20 per hour, per board.

• Loss, theft, or damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged at full retail replacement cost to the card used for booking.

Safe & Responsible Use

• Equipment must be stored securely when not in use.

• PFDs and supplied ankle leashes must be worn at all times on the water.

• Suitable clothing must be worn for weather and water conditions.

• Paddleboards must be carried, not dragged, to and from the water.

• Boards must only be launched and landed at suitable access points. Any required permits are the responsibility of the hirer.

• Sup To You recommends kneeling when launching or landing, or when water is below waist height.

• Equipment must not be used after sunset or in darkness.

• Paddleboards may only be used on permitted flat water within the Lake District National Park.

• Use on rivers, moving water, or coastal environments is strictly prohibited.

• Use of equipment while under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances is strictly prohibited. Sup To You reserves the right to refuse hire at delivery, with no refund issued.

Liability & Insurance

• Sup To You holds appropriate public liability insurance for paddleboard hire and associated equipment.

• All use of hired equipment is entirely at the hirer’s own risk.

• Sup To You is not liable for death, personal injury, or loss or damage to personal property, except where caused directly by the negligence of the company or its employees.

Photography & Media

• Sup To You may take photographs or video during equipment delivery or collection for marketing purposes.

• Hirers consent to this unless they notify Sup To You in writing prior to hire.

Data Protection

• By completing a booking, you consent to the storage of your personal data for administration, safety, and legal purposes only.

• Personal data will not be shared with third parties and is processed in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
